191 x 127 mm. Showing the stage coach, drawn by a team of ten horses standing in front of the single-storey Royal Hotel at Potchefstroom. The hotel, which was rebuilt in 1902 was, until the coming of the railway, a stopover for passengers travelling by coach between the diamond and the gold fields.

The three most prominent strets seen here, running east-west, are Somerset Street, Middel Street and West Street. The print is signed 'W. Roe Photo' and has the following caption, written in calligraphy: 'Graaf Reinet, from the mountain top.'
