209 x 153 mm. A view from the hillside looking down on to the buildings of the Lovedale Missionary Institute in Alice. This mission for indigenous South Africans was founded in 1826 under the name of Incehra and renamed after Dr. John Love, Secretary of the Glasgow Missionary Society.

Gezina Susanna Frederika Wilhelmina Kruger (1831-1901), 1932
212 x 294 mm. A head and shoulders portrait of Gezina Kruger (née du Plessis), S.J.P. Kruger's second wife and a cousin of his first. The marriage took place in 1847. The original photograph is signed G. Kruger.
