Quarter-plate (landscape format). On G. Johnsons Farm, 13 miles from Portage La Prarie [i.e. Prairie]. Threshing machine owned by the farmer in this case. Note the weighing machine at top of pipe, weighs every 1/2 bushel before it goes into the downpipe to waggon. Cars at a railway siding 1/2 mile off wait for grain. (Fisher).

Scope and Contents 80 x 80 mm. In this building both curling and skating are carried on. On the curling side of the building there are two sheets of ice each 127 feet long and 12 feet wide. The skating surface is 160 feet long and 59 feet wide, approximately. There are two storage cisterns here in which water is kept for the purpose of flooding the ice surfaces. Dressing rooms for the hockey players and for the children to don their skates are provided at the end of the skating ice. On the curling side...

202 x 157 mm. A skilful composite photograph of three people going downhill on a toboggan. The three would have been photographed in the studio and the picture superimposed on the woodland scene. The joins can be seen around the figures on careful inspection. Print signed ‘A. Henderson’.
