Prospecting for gold, 1909
Half-plate (landscape format). (Plaza mining). Panning gold at Copper Cliff near Sudbury, Ontario. A demonstration to the members of the Canadian Mining Institute. Plaza Mining is getting gold from the sand and not from the rock. The man with his hands in the water is holding a small pan of gold sand and washing it in the lake until the colour shows.
