No. 74. Burin, South Coast, 1880 - 1904
275 x 228 mm. A view looking down on the town and harbour of Burin with fishing vessels at anchor in the bay. Burin is considered the best harbour in Newfoundland.
No. 80. Placentia, 1880 - 1904
288 x 243 mm. A view looking across neat little houses and gardens towards the harbour in the distance. The photograph is taken from the quarries. Situated on the other side of the Avalon Peninsula to St. John's, Placentia was the first and most important of the French settlements in Newfoundland and was founded in 1622.
