A 508 x 356 mm tabular sheet recording the sums expended upon constructing the 25 sections of the canal between 21 Sept. 1826 and 25 Mar. 1830, and a projection of the total cost of completing the project in 1831. It is signed by Lieutenant Colonel John Bly, the engineer who superintended the construction of the canal.

Frome's original sketches of Kingston, Ontario, Canada, numbers 187, 189-91 and 196 were sold to the Agnes Etherington Art Centre, Queen’s University, in 1975. Photographs of these sketches are stored at RCMS 40/3/15-19. Glass plates which had been made from several of Frome’s drawings of the Rideau Canal (missing when the collection arrived in Cambridge) have been reproduced on Cambridge Digital Library as Y3062T.

Many photos do not appear in the exact numerical order given in the listing. The rest of the images are uncaptioned, but their general locations have been identified by reference to the diary RCMS 353/1.
