Scope and Contents Collection of modern loose prints (six of them duplicates) of historical paintings, drawings and engravings, chiefly of Australia. Numbers 1-24 are prints (measuring 248 x 172 mm) of originals by Thomas Baines (1822-1875) and all except 20 relate to his involvement with the North Australian expedition of 1855-1857 led by A.G. Gregory. Numbers 1-9, 11-17 are of paintings in the Royal Geographical Society. Numbers 10, 18-20 are of paintings on glass (originals about 2 x 3 inches) for...

As part of the preparation of the Commonwealth in Focus Exhibition held in Brisbane in December 1982, a letter was sent in January 1982 to Commonwealth High Commissioners in London seeking their help in the supply of material relating to their countries. At the request of the Australian High Commission, the Australian Information Service in Canberra sent ninety black and white prints and fifty colour slides. ...

Scope and Contents Fifty-three undated watercolours intended as bookmarks, each 200 x 45 mm in size, sold by John Sands of Sydney as indicated by stickers pasted onto the reverse. The images are of birds, with the exception of two koala bears, two kangaroos and one opossum. The vast majority are the work of three authors, signed Artah, M. Simpson and Koddi. Artah is Violet Artah Bartlett, an artist specialising in Australian ornithology who worked in Sydney during the 1920s. It has proved impossible as yet...
