260 x 190 mm. Information given states '3 spans of 150 feet each (iron), 4 spans of 60 feet each (timber), with two thirty feet approach spans, total length 750 feet'. A side view from above looking down on the bridge, with bark roofed cabins on the near river bank. A bridge of similar design to Urara bridge, although longer and with small iron arches above the roadway across the width of the bridge.

The book is illustrated by one double-page and 13 full-page autotypes from original photographs, the printed surface of plates 2-14 approx. 22 x 165 mm. The reproductions are of varying quality, probably depending on that of the originals; at their best (e.g. plate 14) they are virtually indistinguishable from actual prints. North Terrace lies directly south of and parallel to the River Torrens and has always been a sought-after area of Adelaide. The building nearest the camera is the Adelaide Club House, designed by E.A. Hamilton and completed in 1864.
