Dumping on the 'La Rose' Mine, Cobalt, 1909
Quarter-plate. The mined rock is brought in small cars from the bottom of the shaft ; the car is put on what is called a hoist and brought to the surface : then it is run out along rails and emptied as in these views. The rock... [lost by water stain] 'concentrates' the waste removed, and the finer 'silver' ... reduced to a size that permits shipment.

Eagle Pass Landing, 1885
245 x 192 mm. A view showing the settlement of Eagle Pass Landing, a gathering of wooden cabins and tents on the shores of Lake Shuswap. Here were the homes of the railway navvies who completed the last miles of track from the western end of the line, up the Gold Range towards the meeting place of Craigellachie. Eagle Pass landing later became the town of Sicamous.
