245 x 191 mm. (mounted on card). A view looking out over Taiping, with the Padang and the Perak Club in the foreground, founded in 1881, and the barracks of the Perak Armed Police beyond. The barracks of the Perak Armed Police in Taiping were built in 1881-1882. This print forms the right hand of a panorama when joined to the preceding photograph.

242 x 188 mm. A view looking down from the Residency Hill over the town of Taiping, with jungle in the distance. The photograph possibly shows the area to the right of that seen in the preceding prints although the photographs do not match up exactly.

242 x 169 mm. A view looking over part of the prison stockade towards wooded hills in the direction of Kamunting, two miles north-north-west of Taiping. In the foreground are a number of atap houses, with the brick wall of the prison beyond and a wooded palisade enclosing some of the prison buildings. The unsatisfactory state of the prison is described in the Perak Annual Report for 1884 (enclosed in Further correspondence respecting the Protected Malay States (C. 4958 of 1887, p. 23).

Taj Mahal
145 x 195 mm, on card mount. A montage showing the Taj as seen across the Jumna River, framed in an arch which is actually situated on land. The photograph was presented to Miss Diana Hartley on 16 December 1935 by staff and students of the Thomason Hospital, Agra, to commemorate her visit, as Secretary of the Trained Nurses Association of India, in November 1935. The photograph is stored at RCMS 77.
