The capital of Jaipur from the 11th century until 1728, the palace is situated on the hillside above Amber Lake and was built by Rajah Man Singh. Construction started in around 1600 and was completed by Jay Singh I (1625-66). In the background further up the hill, can be seen the old Fort. No. 2313.
