Print, measuring 285 x 234 mm, mounted on card. The photograph is a group portrait of the football team, with inset head and shoulders portraits of two unidentified players. Mr (later Sir) Philip Joseph Hartog (1864-1947), first Vice-Chancellor of Dacca University 1920-25, is seated in the centre of the group. The only other identified figures are P. Scope and Contents 206x149mm. A view from the S. side of Dalhousie Square looking across the Tank towards the Post Office and Writers Buildings. The Post Office, with its reinforced concrete dome of over 220 feet and colonnaded facade in the composite order, was designed by Waiter B. Granville, Architect to the Government of India. The foundation was laid in 1864 and the building opened to the public (although not entirely completed) in 1868. It stands on part of the site of Old Fort William. See also...
