Measuring 175 x 215 mm, this album contains sepia photographs 170 x 115 mm in size. Album spaces 65 and 74 are blank. There are no captions, but some photographs can be identified as Tunis by comparison with postcards in Y304H. Others may be mentioned in the 1922 North Africa Diary (see Introduction), e.g. the Cathedral (p.7/plate 57), Carthage (pp.12ff/plate 59ff), camels (p.66/plates 83, 84), and Porte de France (p.78/plates 49-50), but no detailed research has been attempted.

This material falls into five groups: aerial views of Achimota taken in Jan.1931, later views including some taken from the tower, scenes following the Accra earthquake of 23 June 1939, the visit of the Asantehene in 1946, and portraits of the college’s first principal Rev. Alexander Garden Fraser and Assistant Vice Principal J.E.K. Aggrey. ...

Scope and Contents From the Fonds: The collection consists of a negatives album, produced by Lennon Ltd., Cape Town, containing 125 x 95 mm negatives and an envelope with six further negatives of the same size. Some are poor photographs but many that are apparently very faint contain a good deal of detail. Seven modern prints have also been made and are listed as Y305U/105-111. The images were taken by Albert Ernest Lamb and the captions are from the list in the front of the album. The captions have been used as titles...

190 x 124 mm. A view from the junction of Gardiner and West Streets looking across towards the town hall, a porticoed building surmounted by an over large clock tower. Built in 1885, it was converted into the Post Office in 1910 when the new city hall was completed.
