Gibraltar papers of Colonel Robert Hay, 1942
Two notebooks, February-June and June-September 1942, in which Hay's Spanish cook kept the accounts for Engineer House where three senior officers and guests were staying. There is also a page listing rates of pay of trades employed in the South Division.
Gibraltar papers of Edward Frome, 1838 - 1866
Orders, memoranda, correspondence and a copy of the 'Gibraltar Chronicle' concerning the British troops and the defence of Gibraltar. The papers are accompanied by 'Royal Commonwealth Society library notes', no. 69 (September 1962), pp. 1-3, including the article 'The defence of Gibraltar in the 1860s', which transcribes with notes RCMS 59/1/7-9.
