Press cuttings, letters, photographs, handbills, reports and other items taken from three albums relating to Sedgwick's trips of 1910 and 1912, and to his activities in trying to persuade private and public bodies and individuals to support juvenile emigration in the Empire. In the first box is a summary list and description of the preservation work carried out on the collection. RCS Library Notes no. 71, Nov. 1962, pp. 1-3, outlines the scope of the collection.

The Papers of Sir William Bull

Scope and Contents BULL 1 - 10 is made up of diaries kept faithfully by William (or Paul, as he was known to his family and close friends) Bull from 1878, when he was thirteen years old until some three weeks before his death in January 1931. The earlier diaries were illustrated and all the diaries are interleaved with letters, press cuttings, menus, theatre programmes and photographs relating to the events they describe. Twice yearly, in June and December, Bull compiled a 'Retrospect' of the past six months...

Scope and Contents A handwritten journal with several sketches and pasted-in newspaper cuttings, providing a detailed account of the principal events during the cruise of HMS Harrier, 28 November 1860 - 17 March 1865, 189 pages. The account includes a detailed description of the main events of the Waikato river campaign of 1863, including the Battle of Rangiriri of 20 November 1863, in which Ayre himself took part.
