Reproduction with original features. A pencil manuscript note record the drawings as being 'from 'How the Whale Became'. Ted Hughes / Faber pub[lished] Nov[ember] [19]63'. George Adamson's name and address in Exeter is stamped on the back.

Tortoise illustration on scraper board with a manuscript note labelling it as 1of 6, fragile, and as coming from the 1963 edition of 'How the Whale Became'. There is also a note on the backboard: 'This original belongs to George Adamson'. Includes a hinged covering sheet noting the drawing has a 'delicate surface'.
