Collection of magical recipes and treatises, with diagrams, magic circles, and other illustrations. A full list of the recipes is available. Pp. 166-8: index in main hand. Second hand, resembling that of Ff.4.12 and Ff.4.13, appears at pp. 79-81, 120-1. Pp. 154-65 are in a third hand, of rather earlier appearance. Last leaf partly torn away; on recto of surviving portion (p. 170) is writing in another hand. pp. 53, 122-53: blank.

Contemporary vellum binding, darkened and rubbed with age. Contains formulae for pharmaceutical recipes for a variety of pills and powders for conditions including constipation, bowel problems, stomach upsets, ear, nose and throat problems, with a tabulated index to front. Scope and Contents Probably in Westminster. Prescriptions in Latin: many give the name of the doctor, usually 'Dr More' [perhaps John Moore MD LRCP, c. 1618], or patient / other customer. Three are dated to 1625. Among names recurring are Sir Ambrose Turvill, Sir William Smithsby, Lord Teynham, the wife of Sir Henry Roper, Lady Rutland, 'the Lady Dutchessa', Lady Willoughby, 'Mr Browne at the Lady Dormers', Lady Mary Villiers, Lady Frances Cranfield, Lady Denbigh, and Lady Dormer senior. Scope and Contents Latin treatise on respiratory and other diseases, fos 1-25. There is a list of contents on fo. ii which is partly torn away. At the foot of this is the name 'Arthur Holl[ingworth]', and on fo. 43 in the same hand is 'Arthur Hollingworth P.tuo', below which, in a different hand, is 'Rowland Freeman 1705'. It is not clear if Hollingworth is the author or the scribe. After the treatise, in the same hand, are 'Clavis verborum omnium in Chymia', Latin and English explanations of chemical symbols...
