Scope and Contents

Correspondence with the general public on legal issues, particularly relating to speeches and articles by JEP, including speeches to the Cambridge University Conservative Association (Oct 1985 and Feb 1989).

Also includes: Home Office paper on Government proposals for the confiscation of the proceeds of drug trafficking; copy of the Howard League report for the Penal Reform Forfeiture Committee (1981) with other papers on the relationship in criminal law between financial penalties and other penal measures.
