Political and non-political subjects, 1650-08 - 1998-08
Scope and Contents
This class, the largest in the Powell Papers, was originally all grouped together under the umbrella term Other Political Subjects and Miscellaneous Files, but has been split into sections as suggested by JEP's original file titles, and consists of material including: political subject files accumulated by JEP throughout his career and political correspondence with the public; election material; non-political papers reflecting JEP's own beliefs and interests, such as church architecture, textual and theological studies on the Gospel, and various literary figures; JEP's own journalistic work; his interviews with the BBC; and letters from some of JEP's more persistent admirers.
