Scope and Contents

Fifth part of a bundle of unsorted correspondence. Includes: typescript copy of letters from AHP to a Captain Ramsey, Shanghai, describing his new position at the Daily Mail and the possibility of commissioning Ramsey to write short articles on China and Japan for the paper, AHP's memories of the days of "real freedom" while hunting in Canada, and the Missionaries at Peace River; typescript copy of letter from AHP to an unidentified woman in Philadelphia, on his new position at the 'Daily Mail' and his brother's success in prospecting for gold in North America; E. Dora Cook, thanking AHP for his kind letter of sympathy; and various correspondence concerning invitations and social occasions. Also includes souvenir cards and menu from entertainments at the National Liberal Club and the Savoy Hotel. With Anthony Pollen's notes and annotations on the letters.
