Scope and Contents
Letters to AHP from friends and acquaintances. Subjects and people include: Alexander Thynne, on AHP's offer of a loan of his rifle; Dr. William Broadbent, on finding a doctor to accompany AHP and Henry Somers Somerset on their North American hunting expedition; memorandum from Lady Henry Somerset; Viscount Morpeth [later Charles Howard, 10th Earl of Carlisle]; Charles Dana Gibson; Frances E. Willard, on AHP's help with writing 'verses' on temperance and "getting in allusions to temperance" during his trip to the United States with Henry Somers Somerset (5). Also includes a list of 'Saloon Passengers' on the RMS Etruria, September 1895. With Anthony Pollen's annotations and notes on the letters.

Conditions Governing Access
With the exception of the correspondence between Anthony Pollen and Jon Sumida, which remains closed until 2029, the collection is open for consultation by researchers using Churchill Archives Centre, Churchill College, Cambridge.
