Includes: a letter from Jack to Lady Randolph Churchill on his and Winston's distress at her husband [George Cornwallis-West]'s affair with Mrs Patrick Campbell; report from Jack to Winston on a conversation with Field Marshal Sir John French [Commander-in-Chief of the Expeditionary Forces in France, later 1st Lord Ypres] in October 1914, on the fighting round Ypres [Belgium], help from Winston, the defence of Antwerp, French's view of conscription and the future of the war; two letters from Major-General John Brabazon to Jack on trying to get him elected to the Turf Club (? 1922).
