Scope and Contents
Letters from CSC to her sister Nellie [earlier Nellie Hozier] and also her son Giles Romilly on subjects including: her engagement; the health of Nellie's husband Bertram Romilly; Randolph Churchill's engagement to Pamela Digby [later Pamela Churchill, Pamela Hayward and Pamela Harriman]; the war service and death of Nellie's son Esmond Romilly; Giles Romilly being a prisoner of war; Nellie's health; Giles's gift of a portrait of CSC with her elder sister Kitty Hozier as children.
Also includes a copy of Winston Churchill's letter to Nellie on the engagement, copies of letters from Neville Lytton to Nellie on painting CSC and letters from Giles's wife Mary Romilly on their divorce.
