"Clementine Churchill": general correspondence, 1975-01 - 1977-06
Scope and Contents
Correspondents include: Sir John Colville on his sixtieth birthday, and the gift of a complete edition of Sir Winston Churchill's works (2); CSC's nurse, describing CSC's reception at the Battle of Britain memorial service; Margaret Thatcher [Leader of the Conservative Party] on CSC's early support for women's suffrage, hoping that one day there would be a female Churchill in the House of Commons, asking if she could mention the issue in a speech, and also on her admiration for Churchill's speeches (2); [Maurice] Harold Macmillan [later 1st Lord Stockton]. Also includes mementoes of MS receiving an honorary degree from the University of Bristol on CSC's behalf.
