Scope and Contents
Papers and correspondence, mainly on the painting lessons given to Winston Churchill by Sickert, including: copies of letters from Sickert to Churchill on painting technique [originals in CSCT 3/115]; a memoir by CSC and later correspondence on her search for a painting by Sickert on his behalf while she was in Venice [Italy], 1927; extracts from Churchill's official biography on his painting, 1926-27, and also on his visit to Canada, 1929; correspondence between CSC and the art critic John Russell on his book to mark the centenary of Sickert's birth, 1959.
