Subjects include: American shipping output; weaknesses in the air service; changes in Admiralty organisation; the military situation, including failure to learn lessons on the Western Front, lack of strategy in Palestine and Mesopotamia [Iraq, and parts of southeast Turkey, southwest Iran and Syria] and the mistaken idea that Germany and Austria can be defeated by economic pressure alone; criticism of the Dardanelles Campaign; the removal of Major-General Sir Hugh Trenchard from the Royal Flying Corps; the work of gunboats in Mesopotamia [Iraq, and parts of southeast Turkey, southwest Iran and Syria].
