Letters written after John Julius had been evacuated to the United States and Canada, on subjects including: living in London during the Blitz; interned Germans; press hostility against Duff Cooper; reaction to John Julius being sent to the United States; dinner with Rex Whistler; air raids; a broadcast by Lady Diana, Aug 1940; the effect of the war on Bognor [Sussex]; a weekend at Ditchley Park [Oxfordshire] with Winston Churchill, Prime Minister, Feb 1941; keeping livestock at Bognor.
