Working papers on the press and print media, covering subjects such as newspaper and magazine readership circulation figures; the reading habits of special interest groups and consumers, including 'influential City men', 'Guardian readers', and women; Fleet Street economics and working cultures; standards and ethics in journalism; new titles, mergers, and closure of publications; press ownership, monopolies, and the printing industry. Consists largely of press cuttings, articles, advertising, and survey data, with Mark Abrams's notes. Includes copies of Research Services Ltd. publication 'New Statesmanship: A Survey of the Readership of the New Statesman and Nation' (c. 1955).
