Working papers grouped by Abrams under the headings 'Mass Culture: Criticisms' and 'Taste of the Arts', covering subjects such as the mass media and its critics; escapism; libraries, paperback books, and reading; the impact of American entertainment in Britain; popular leisure activities; theatre; music; arts patronage and funding, and marketing for cultural industries. Consists largely of press cuttings, articles, and survey data, with Mark Abrams's notes. Including copies of Mark Abrams's paper for UNESCO seminar in Beirut on "Statistics of Culture and Mass Communication for Arab States" (1968). Also includes letter to Mark Abrams from Lyn [Evelyn] Abrams (n.d.).
