Speaking notes for an illustrated lecture given by Elain Harwood, an architectural historian from English Heritage, about the architect's competition to build Churchill College. Harwood sets the competition for Churchill College in the broader context of buildings for higher education and discusses the organisation of the competition, selection of architects and other work by the competitors.
