Biographical / Historical
Professor Archie Howie is a Founder Fellow of the College. He came to the College as a Junior Research Fellow in 1960. In 1962 he transferred to a Title A (Official) or Teaching Fellowship, and from 1986-2001 he was a Title C (Professorial) Fellow. On his retirement in 2001 he became a Title D (Pensioner) Fellow. He held the post of Dean from 1963-1965 and was President of the SCR from 1999-2010.
