Biographical / Historical

Natasha Squire was born on 16 July 1931. She is the widow of Dr Peter Squire, Founding Fellow. Peter served as an intelligence officer in the British Military Mission to the Soviet Union during the war and, in 1959, became a Founding Fellow of Churchill. Peter and Natasha moved into the Sheppard Flats c. 1960 and were closely involved in the setting up of the College. He died in 2009. Natasha became a Senior Member of Lucy Cavendish College in 1966 and a Fellow from 1968. She is now an Emeritus Fellow of that College where she served as Tutor, Senior Tutor, Newton College Lecturer, Wine Steward and Acting Steward. She was 83 years old at the date of this recording.
