Biographical / Historical
The Roskill lecture is a lecture given every two years as a memorial to Captain Stephen Roskill. The lecture takes place in the Wolfson Hall and is followed by a dinner in College. Speakers are high profile and usually speak on world events. The lecture is a prestigious event and is attended by several members of the Roskill family including Nicholas Roskill who makes a vote of thanks during dinner. The first lecture was organised jointly by the Bursar's Office and the Archives Centre: subsequent lectures have been organised by the Archives Centre. From 2003 the funding of the lecture changed and contributions towards the lecture are given by the Roskill family and others.
