Access to any files containing plans of buildings currently standing on the College site must first be cleared with the College Archivist.
Biographical / Historical
The original buildings of the College were built in the following stages:
Stage 1 - Fellows' Flats [Sheppard Flats: Job Number 259]
Stage 2 - Residential blocks [Job Number 259] - North Court
Stage 3 - Central buildings [Job Number 259]
Stage 3a - Master's Lodge [Job Number 259]
Stage 3b - Boiler House and Squash court [Job Number 259]
Stage 4 - Residential [Job Number 259] - East Court
Stage 5 - Libraries, Archives and Lecture Hall [Job Number 310]
Stage 6 - Residential [Job Number 318] - South Court
Stage 7 - Residential [Job Number 375] - West Court
Stage 8 - Sports Pavillion [Job Number 348]
Stage 9 - Chapel [Job Number 338]
Note that some of the mechanical engineering plans were drawn up by the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) at Harwell. William Mullins of Sheppard Robson recalled (June 2009) that Sir John Cockcroft wanted to use his UKAEA colleagues for this aspect of the design of the college.
