Letters written from the British Embassy in Paris [France] while FR was serving as 3rd Secretary, mainly relating to his day to day life and work. Other subjects include the French political situation, the disarmament conference at Geneva [Switzerland], FR's dislike of Paris, his admiration for Chartres cathedral, and the difficulties in the French economy.
