Scope and Contents
Papers and correspondence on the Donaldson Committee and the enquiry into the age of majority for enlistment in the armed services, with correspondents including: [Clifford] Tony Smythe, General Secretary of the National Council for Civil Liberties (2); Lord Donaldson of Lymington, inviting AFB to appear before his committee; Dorothea, Lady Head, on her report for Amnesty International on deserters and conscientious objectors; Lord Winterbottom, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Defence for the RAF.
Also includes a copy of Hansard with a statement in the House of Lords by Lord Gardiner, November 1970, on the Government having accepted AFB's view and summaries of servicemen's cases, from the National Council for Civil Liberties.
