Scope and Contents
Mainly correspondence between HL and Rachel Lauterpacht with Elihu Lauterpacht, on subjects including: Rachel's food parcels for Elihu; HL's work on volume 1 of Oppenheim and on his book ["Recognition in International Law"]; the scholarship examination for Trinity College, University of Cambridge; a planned lecture on Grotius; HL's feelings about his family in Poland; a planned new text book; HL's advice to Elihu on writing articles.
Other correspondents include: Patrick Duff, Tutor, Trinity College (2); Sir Arnold McNair on subjects including the end of his term as [Vice-Chancellor of the University of Liverpool], HL's concerns about his family in Poland and McNair taking on the joint editorship of the Journal of Comparative Legislation (2); Robert H Jackson [Justice, United States Supreme Court] on catching up with HL in order to have the benefit of his good judgement and learning.
Also includes a later research note on HL's selection as part of the British prosecuting team at Nuremberg.
