Scope and Contents
Correspondents include: Arnold McNair, Lecturer in International Law, London School of Economics and Political Science, on subjects including HL's suggestions on the revision of L F L Oppenheim's textbook on international law and a testimonial he had written for HL (4); Sabina Lauterpacht, sending a cake recipe.
Also includes copies of letters and papers added by Sir Elihu Lauterpacht as source material for his biography of HL, including: a report of the University Zionist Federation (HL having just joined the executive committee); correspondence between HL, on behalf of the World Union of Jewish Students, and the Information Section of the League of Nations, on the establishment of a Jewish University under the protection of the League; HL's outline plan for his thesis; his first two lectures given in English, given at a summer school [of the British inter-University Jewish Federation], on aspects of Jewish life and culture and the founding Congress of the World Union of Jewish Students [see also LAUT 7/32 for a modern transcript].
