Also includes note and copy of correspondence from secretaries Chips Gemmell and Jane Portal [later Lady Williams of Elvel].Includes: galley proofs with annotations of the draft statement of policy with sections on economic affairs, management and labour, nationalisation, the countryside, homes, the social services, local democracy, constitutional questions, the British Empire and Commonwealth, foreign affairs, and defence; drafts of WSC's introduction; Conservative pamphlets on matters including social security, industrial reform, and trade unions by individuals including David Clarke [Joint Director of the Conservative Research Department], Cuthbert Alport, and Butler.
