Letter from Shane Leslie (St Johnsbury, Vermont [United States]) to Aunt Jane [Lady Randolph Churchill] marked "private" in which he promises to sell her pictures for her; asks her to help [Reverend William Hemmicks] who has been sent by Cardinal James Gibbons to investigate the morals of Catholics in the American Army on the Western Front; comments on the indifference of Americans to World War I and the plight of Great Britain and reports that he was protected by police when he spoke about [Major] William Redmond's death.
