Prime Minister's printed personal minutes, October 1944.Includes texts of minutes from WSC (annotated with additional printed information) to: senior civil servants, including Sir Edward Bridges [Secretary to the War Cabinet]; General Sir Hastings Ismay [Chief of Staff to the Minister of Defence]; Air Chief Marshal Arthur Harris [Commander in Chief Bomber Command]; members of the Cabinet and other government ministers, particularly Foreign Secretary [Anthony Eden, later 1st Lord Avon]; the Chiefs of Staff.Subjects covered by the minutes include: the CDL tank; the military government of Germany in the period following the end of hostilities; France's role in Syria and Major General Sir Edward Spears' [First Minister to Republic of Syria and the Lebanon] position; Greek affairs; post-war reconstruction plans; "Dracula" [proposed Allied attack on the Rangoon area, Burma, later Myanmar] and operations against Japanese forces; the position of various European monarchs; Soviet aims in the Far East; recommendations for honours; reinforcements for the Canadian army; the military situation in Italy; honours; and fears about leaking information.
