Scope and Contents

Letter from WSC (Home Office) to T S Dennison [vicar of St Stephen's, Birmingham] supporting previous statements made about the Welsh Church [see CHAR 12/3/38]: the [Welsh Church] was described as "imposed on them from without" because the veto of the House of Lords is used to over-rule the unanimous wish of the Welsh members; and the financial support given to "a single Church representing a small minority" was originally intended for the whole people. Signed typescript annotated with a note that the addressee had commented on a passage of a letter from WSC to Sir George Ritchie.
