Scope and Contents
Comprises correspondence as follows:
- damp press copy letter from Harwood to Samuel Peed, 20 Feb 1855, about muniments relating to the College site;
- manuscript note of the inscription to be placed in a bible given by John B Dyne, 1862;
- two letters from Provost Okes to 'Sir', 3-4 Aug 1870, about an abuse by 'Alexander' of permission to reside in the long vacation;
- letter from Augustus Austen Leigh (then Tutor) to 'Sir' [the Provost], 17 Oct 1876, about five undergraduates' obligation to pay board whilst away from College without exeats;
- letter from Oscar Browning, 25 Jan 1884, offering two maps for a lecture room;
- letter from Rattee and Kett, 4 Jan 1889, enclosing their bill and a plan of the vault after the interment [of Provost Okes], neither enclosure still present;
- two letters from Arthur Studd to William Macaulay, Jan-Feb 1889, about remaining 'on the books' whilst out of College;
- bill addressed to C E Grant, 1889 for Mr Pearson's inspection of and report on parts of the Chapel;
- two letters to Macaulay from Austen Leigh, 20-21 Nov [1859] about the procedure for electing Deans and about the inspection of the College silver;
- letter to 'Sir' dated 14 Feb 1901 about a payment to the Reredos fund;
- three undated notes regarding graduates and the date of a Sampford Courtenay conveyance.
