Scope and Contents
Director's Day Book for 1920-1921 compiled by A. J. B. Wace. Daily summary of excavation on site, also documents notable finds, visitors to the excavation and tallies of numbers of workmen employed. Hand-drawn sketches, diagrams and tomb plans pasted in throughout the notebook. Clippings of AJBW's summary account of the excavation, published in the Times Literary Supplement on June 24, July 16th, 19th August and October 13th 1920, pasted in at ff. 119 v. -125 r.
Areas under investigation were the Lion Gate, Granary, South House, Treasury of Atreus and Chamber Tombs.
Some days were completed by an unknown hand, ff. 27-29, and C.A. Boëthius, ff. 92-97, respectively.
