Scope and Contents
Working files which document the transcription and translation of ancient Greek and Latin incriptions from Cyrenaica. This region is located in eastern Libya, during the Roman period it was also called the Pentapolis (Five Cities) and is geographically located on the plateau of the Jebel Akhdar (the Green Mountain), flanked to the west by the Gulf of Sidra (the Greater Syrtis), to the north by the Mediterrnean.
JMR collaborated closely with Richard Goodchild on the corpus and the files include correspondence between them. John Chadwick was consulted for his insight into obscure vocabulary or grammar. Other correspondents include Jocelyn Toynbee,
