Canada in Piraeus [Πειραιάς], Helen and Evgelia [Positive Prints and their Negatives], 1917-06
Scope and Contents
The 'Canada' was SS Canada, built for the Fabre Line in 1911, operting under a French flag, she provided a Mediterranean-New York Service. The images are of two women wearing Greek traditional festal dress, featuring distinctive embroidery. The 'Helen' featured is not Helen Pence, later Helen Wace, but another unknown Helen.

Physical Description
6 monochrome negative photographic prints on celluloid, each 2 ½ x 4 ½ inches (quarter plate negatives), accompanied by their 6 silver gelatin positive prints. Good condition. All now placed in polyester sleeves.
1 brown envelope with some foxing, W. 15.5 x H. 12 cm, handwritten in pencil by both the person who developed the film (the company of Félix Ragno, Optician, Athens) and by AJBW who wrote '"Canada" in Piraeus June 12th 1917, Helen and Evgelia'
