Scope and Contents
In diary format, notes, sketch plans, copies of inscriptions, observations of the environment and architecture (especially churches) whilst travelling through Macedonia. At the begiining, a page in another hand on the Bektashi.
Towards the back of the notebook, 5 leaves of notes, dated March 12 1923, at Mycenae, on excavation in the Granary, the Rhyton well, and the South House . At the back, a number of leaves torn out. Bibilographic notes, packing and laundry lists, expenses tally, A poem composed for Lisa (born 1931), records of spending and on the final leaf, brief, impressionistic jottings of thoughts and experiences whilst travelling during 1915.

Physical Description
Green cloth cover, with loops for a pencil attached to both front and back cover, with a tiny pencil still present in the loop at the back. Text block of squared paper, handwritten in pencil, 17.5 x 11.5cm.
Foliated by AJBW, ff. 94
Top and tail of spine bumped, otherwise volume is in sound, good condition. This is a higher quality notebook than any Wace used previously.
