General
In 2014 a donation towards the preservation of this series of records was made by Mr Tony Henning and his daughter Christine. Tony's wife, Phoebe Henning (nee Edmiston) was involved in the administration of the Svalbard Expeditions during the early 1950s. In 1949 Brian Harland wrote a letter to Phoebe's father thanking him for his and Phoebe's dedication to the successful running of the expeditions (Ref. CSEC A3 pt 1b). A photograph of Phoebe is in the Archive of Dr Colin Forbes, former Curator of the Sedgwick Museum (ref. FRBS DDF 590).
