Floral celadon craquelure vase, 20th century?

 Item
Reference Code: GBR/1928/NRI/NRI2/8/13/2/26
Scope and Contents

This is a celadon flower vase with a flared lip and base, likely a modern imitation of traditional vases. The crackled texture (craquelure) of the vase is an ancient Chinese Song dynasty technique originally called bing lie wen 冰裂纹 ('ice crack pattern'). The florals on the exterior of the vase, however, seem to have been taken from western styles. The characters qingzhen (青珍) are written on the inside lip of the base.

Dates: 20th century?
