The American Chemical Society created a series of audio lectures and Joseph Needham was invited to record one on ‘Early Chemistry and Alchemy in Chinese Culture’. The proposal was for an educational series comprising a tape or cassette with an accompanying reference book. The file contains correspondence, Joseph Needham's handwritten notes and 'Guidelines for the lecturer'.
